Someone needed a break from the hustle and bustle of the busy city of Manila + the skies seem a little too friendly, thus vacationing by car is more appealing than ever.
Where to?
From Antipolo, to Pililla, then Tanay!! -just 2 hours away from Manila!!!! 🚗🚙🚕
1ST STOP: Pililla Windmills
No need to travel far to Ilocos Norte to see the Bangui Windmills, since we have one just a couple of hours away from Manila! (Fact: both the windmills in Ilocos and Pililla are under the same company.)
READ MORE: Our Roadtrip Date: The Windmill, Pililla Rizal
You can overlook the amazing plains of Tanay Rizal and Laguna on opposite sides, as well as the majestic Laguna de Bay.
What to do:
- Sight Seeing
- Sip and chill inside the Milk Tea stall (forgot the brand)
- Rent a Kubo nearby and relax
Expenses: None (since there is no entrance fee)
How to get there:
- From Manila
- Take the road off to Laguna passing through Antipolo to Tanay to Halayhayin Pillila. (Isang daanan lang from Halaylayin to Windmill so less chance of being misled)
- There, you can already pass through the entrance of the place (left side besh)
2nd stop: Calinawan Cave
From Pililla, we’re now off to Tanay!!
Calinawan Cave, is a 5 layer cave which needs a 45-60mnts walk to cover the 1st 2 layers. The other layers are not accessible due to the rainy season. The cave is dark asf, so you need flashlights to be able to explore inside!
The view of the inside of the cave is something that you can behold. Also, this cave has interesting stories which relates to our history. (Will blog about this soon)
What to do:
- Spelunking
Expenses:
- Entrance Fee: 20pesos
- Tour Guide Fee: 200 pesos
- No parking fee
How to get there:
- From Manila
Option 1:

- Keep driving until you reach Baras, then tanay
- From Tanay, go to Sampaloc Road
- Keep Driving until you see the sign “Daranak Falls” & “Calinawan Cave”
- From Pililla
- Take the ONLY WAY passing through Halaylayin Pililla (oo bes isa lang daan nyan)
- From Halaylayin, once you see a V shape road, keep right until you reach the intersection going to Sampaloc Road
- From Sampaloc Road, keep Driving until you see the sign “Daranak Falls” & “Calinawan Cave”
3rd stop: Daranak Falls
Daranak Falls is just super near from Calinawan Cave! We’ve been here for the nth time already, and for the nth time, this place amazes us!
^ The place features a mini cliff dive spot, around 13 ft i guess. However, due to the rainy season, the current of the falls is too strong thats why we were not allowed to jump 😦
^ Daranak is a huge place. If you still have time, you can explore around and get to discover the extension of the falls, Daranak River.
What to do:
- Swim
- Cliff Diving
- Chill
Expenses:
- Entrance Fee: 50php
- Rent of Salbabida (optional): 40php
- Parking Fee: 40php
- Cottage Fee (optional): 200php
How to get there:
- See instructions above (yung kay Calinawan Cave hehe)
4th Stop: Parola Lighthouse

Just a couple of minutes away from Daranak lies a hidden beauty inside Tanay proper, Parola! It wasn’t that tall but it has its unique beauty as to compare to other lighthouses.
We heard that you can climb this spiral staircase to witness a 360-degree view of Tanay and Laguna de Bay. However when we were there, there was no one operating and the door of the staircase was lock 😦
The view around the place is so relaxing! You can also experience a quick tour in this place using boats for just 20 pesos!
Expenses:
- No entrance fee
- Boar fee: 20php/head
How to get there:
- From Manila

Some of you are wondering what if you dont have the benefit of a car and just have to commute?
HOW TO COMMUTE:
