This really serves as a great example of how warm and hospitable Filipinos are. We care about the people and their well-being, just as Philippine Airlines cherish their passengers’ satisfaction. They, indeed, have the world class service we, Filipinos, can be proud of!

My Bangkok Flight Experience
I was all giddy with the fact that I will be traveling to Bangkok with Philippine Airlines! As said earlier, I already had a few flight experience with Philippine Airlines, but flying to Bangkok with them will be the first! Accessing Bangkok is made easier with Philippine Airlines’ daily flights to this city. As of this writing, Philippine Airlines flies 3x daily between Manila and Bangkok, and daily between Cebu and Bangkok. (Photo below for reference)

What’s amazing in this A330 Tri-class experience is its upgraded cabin layout of eight monoclass 414-seater A330-300s, where the number of seats are reduced to 309 seats, with a developed business class, new true premium economy class and enhanced economy class which guarantees the finest flight experience.
Business Class Passengers can enjoy the first Thompson Vantage XL seats in Southeast Asia offering the most comfortable seat in its class that features an adjustable air cushion system, which is first in Asia, a lumbar massage, a fully flat bed with 78-inch bed length, a spacious personal environment to eat, relax or work, all with enhanced privacy. On top of these, passengers also have the benefit of priority check-in, access to Mabuhay lounge, a full course inflight meal and a free minimum 40 kgs. baggage allowance.
The NEW Premium Economy Class Passengers have the advantage of experiencing the very first premium economy class in our country, offering extra comfort with their 38-inch x 19.55-inch seat that can recline up to 8-inch with built-in leg rest and footrest. Moreover, they can also enjoy a minimum of 35 kilograms baggage allowance, and of course inflight meals.
Economy Class Passengers can now take pleasure from a more spacious environment with extra comfort, where 32-inch pitch x 18-inch seat width with six-inch recline and four-way headrest are offered. In addition, they also have 30 kgs. baggage allowance and free inflight meals.

myPAL eSuite: Philippine Airlines’ passengers of all class have access to a wide selection of entertainment content through their eSuite personal TV from Zodiac Inflight Innovations equipped with a touch screen monitor and a USB port. They can enjoy a variety of TV shows, movies, games, music, and even have a selection for kids.
myPAL Mobile: Passengers can stay connected with their loved ones with myPAL mobile inflight. Through this roaming service, they can be able to call and/or text anyone subject to myPAL’s rate.
Moreover, Philippine Airlines offers myPAL Roam Pocket Wi-Fi, which allows passengers to enjoy being connected in over 100 countries worldwide wherever they go. This service is available in two portable wi-fi hotspot devices: a regular one and a 4g one with download speeds of up to 42 and 72 mbps, respectively. Moreover, 5 devices can be connected at a time.
myPAL Wi-fi: Aside from being entertained through the screen of the TV, passengers can also be able to surf, browse and stay connected on the internet through Philippine Airlines’ myPAL Wi-fi. It offers free 15 minutes to all passengers, and package rate for as low as 5 USD / 50 percent off on upgrade plans after consuming the free minutes. My Personal Experience
When I found out that I will be flying to Bangkok with Philippine Airlines’ new airbus A330 plane, I instantly felt beyond happy and thrilled. Not only would I be exploring one of the most amazing country in Southeast Asia, but would also be witnessing the refurbished plane of Philippine Airlines- isn’t that something worth excited for?!
Before the flight
Check-in & Boarding:
The moment I stepped into the check-in counter, Philippine Airlines’ service is already superb! I was greeted with a smile and was courteously asked for my passport and ticket. The whole check-in process was fast and smooth. Priority check-in is given to business class passengers and premium economy passengers. As an economy class passenger, I was given a free 30 kgs. of baggage allowance in addition to my 7 kgs. hand carry allowance. A total of 37 kgs. of baggage allowance is already more than valuable for me- especially that I was planning to shop in Bangkok! Yeay! Also, boarding started strictly on-time. Hands up to Philippine Airlines for respecting the time of their passengers!
During the flight
Cabin Crew Service:
Right as I entered the plane, I felt more enthusiastic as the vibe around the plane is unusual and new and the cabin crew’s energy are so affable. I was greeted with several cabin crew offering me their biggest smile and respect, supplemented by their signature “Hello Mabuhay!” greeting. I instantly felt at home and was captivated by their warm welcome and cozy atmosphere of the plane. Before we took off, the steward and stewardess were very gentle on checking every passenger and making sure their seatbelts are on, seats are properly in their standard position and window seats are lifted – these are the basic rules for the safety of the passengers.
During the flight, the crew are always available to accommodate your needs. In fact, at one point when I was feeling cold, the crew offered me a blanket to keep me warm. When I needed a glass of water, or when I needed assistance in setting up my personal TV, they were always prompt to respond with huge warm smiles on their faces. I was sooooo pampered to the point that I didn’t want to leave the plane already!
One of the most important factor I always consider whenever I fly is the comfort of my seat. With Philippine Airlines’ newly enhanced economy seats, I was, without a doubt, fully satisfied… and indeed relaxed during the whole flight. I had enough personal space: an area for my bags under the seat without eliminating legroom; a 4-way headrest for the comfort of my head; extra comfort armrests without grabbing my seatmates’ space; and a seat that can recline up to 6 inches for a more relaxed sitting experience! What’s more amazing is each seat comes with a USB port that I can use to charge my gadgets. It is also equipped with a personal TV (touchscreen pa!) to keep me entertained during the flight.
Free wifi onboard, 150+ movies, a wide selection of music, magazines, an online boutique, data roaming inflight and outside the plane, and many more! What else could you ask for? Personally, I was definitely overwhelmed with the number of things I can do during my flight. I even wished I could stay here longer.
During my 3 hour flight from Manila to Bangkok, I was torn between enjoying my seat and having a nap, and binge watching the movies available in my myPAL eSuite personal TV. I chose both. I watched the movie How to be Single and took a nap afterwards. I even had the time to browse Philippine Airlines’ online boutique, and boy this shop has a wide range of duty free and travel items as well as exclusive PAL merchandise. What’s nice about this is that you can actually shop before your flight online at boutique.philippineairlines.com and have the items delivered to you onboard or to any PAL Philippine destination.
What amazes me the most is the free 15 minutes wi-fi onboard! I was so excited to connect and browse my social media accounts! It was a different feeling- me browsing through my facebook feed where I actually in an out-of-this-world location.
Moreover, when I was in need of a portable Wifi hotspot device, Philippine Airlines got me covered! MyPAL roam is my hero! Here, I can share my hotspot device to 4 more friends and we can stay connected in over 100 countries! (You can have yours here: roam.philippineairlines.com )
What made this experience complete is our inflight meals. Nothing beats having a scrumptious meal on top of the clouds during your flight. I’m telling, no matter what seating class you may be, quality meals are assured!
Shortly after the plane took off, the crew started serving meals. My meal was served fresh and handed with me with a smile on the crew’s face. Drinks were also offered to us afterwards. Not only that, we were given ice creams after our meal to wrap up our inflight meal experience! Ahhhh, the food is so good!
