Gardens By The Bay

Gardens By The Bay is a natural park that has a strong public service element, being a  national garden that provides community programs that benefit a huge part of Singapore’s population. It is one of the most top-rated destinations in Singapore. It features a lot of unique and state of the art attractions that will surely leave you in awe. It presents a wide range of floral displays and garden attractions that focus on plant life and diverse species in the Cooled Conservatories and towering vertical gardens.

Gardens By The Bay consists of three  waterfront gardens namely Bay South Garden, Bay East Garden, and Bay Central Garden. Aside from these, Gardens By The Bay also boasts of its outdoor gardens such as Far East Organization Children’s Garden, Sun Pavillion, Heritage Gardens, The Canyon, and World of Plants. However, what makes a visit to the place a unique experience are the following attractions: Flower Dome, Supertree Grove and OCBC Skyway, Cloud Forest, the Art Sculptures, Dragonfly and Kingfisher Lakes, and their newest attractions: Serene Garden and Floral Fantasy that will open on April 14, 2019. In my opinion, the top three attractions that you should consider visiting are Cloud Forest, Flower Drom, and Supertree Grove!

  • Operating Hours: 5:00 AM until 2:00 AM
  • Tip: Visit Gardens By The Bay during the afternoon so you can take nice photos with the sun still up, then at night, you can enjoy the light shows! The shows go on at 7:45 PM and 8:45 PM daily.

Marina Bay Sands

The iconic Marina Bay Sands of Singapore offers the best views of the city’s skyline. Marina Bay Sands has three 55-storey hotel towers. These three towers are connected by a roof terrace called Sands SkyPark. It is an observation deck that provides stunning panoramic views across the bay. The SkyPark has the world’s longest elongated pool looking out over Singapore’s city skyline! It is probably the most photographed infinity pool today! SkyPark also houses nightclubs such as Lavo and Cé La Vi, as well as gardens and restaurants. Marina Bay Sands was made even more iconic by the film Crazy Rich Asians, so if you’re a big fan of the film, you must not definitely miss this place!

Singapore Zoo

Formerly known as Singapore Zoological Gardens, the Singapore Zoo has about 315 species of animals. It is Singapore’s award-winning wildlife reserve and it its considered a world-leading wildlife park that provides expert animal care. The zoo follows a modern trend of housing the animals in naturalistic, open exhibits with hidden barriers separating the animals and the visitors. The animals are being kept in spacious enclosures that are separated from the visitors. It has some of the most distinctive global habitats in the world. You can take a guided tram ride across the park zones and meet over a thousand animals. There are so many animals worth seeing such as kangaroos, komodo dragons, and tortoises. Singapore Zoo is also home to the largest captive colony of orangutans in the world You can get up close with the animals or just watch them in awe. There are different shows that you can catch such as Breakfast With An Orangutan, The Rainforest Fights Back, The Elephants At Work And Play, Splash Safari, and Animal Friends.

Night Safari

The Night Safari has been becoming a popular tourist attraction in Singapore. It is the world’s first nocturnal zoo and it houses over 130 species of animals. Night Safari is an open-air zoo located in a tropical forest, so the temperature at night gets lower which makes it the ideal time to roam around comfortably. It is divided into seven geographical zones such as Himalayan Foothills, Indian Subcontinent, Equatorial Africa, Indo-Malayan Region, Asian Riverine Forest, Nepalese River Valley, and Burmese Hillside. You should not miss the Creatures of the Night live show that features the antics of the binturong, civet, and more. This place is only open at night and going here is such a unique and amazing experience! If you are looking for something different to do, you should definitely try this.

  • How to get there: Take the North South Line (Red) to Choa Chu Kang (NS1) Station. Then board Bus # 972. Alight outside the Night Safari.

  • Tip: Try to be seated at least 30 minutes in advance for Creatures of the Night. Since this show has become extremely popular, the show tends to draw a lot of crowds.

Sentosa Island

Sentosa Island offers everything fun and exciting! This is the perfect place to be if you want to maximize your trip to Singapore. There are many attractions to visit in one day, as well as numerous activities to try. Sentosa can be reached from the Singapore mainland via a short cable car ride. The cable car that takes 12 minutes offers astounding views of Singapore. Sentosa Island offers a wide variety of museums, resorts, and attractions. Here are some of the places and activities that you should consider exploring: Universal Studios, Adventure Cove Waterpark Singapore, S.E.A. Aquarium, Skyline Luge Sentosa, Tiger Sky Tower, and Sentosa Nature Discovery. Of course, do not forget to have your photo taken beside the iconic and huge statue of the Merlion that stands at 37 meters tall!

  • SE.A. Aquarium: The S.E.A. Aquarium (South East Asia Aquarium) is one of the largest aquariums in the world. The aquarium contains a total of 45,000,000 litres of water and it boasts of more than 100,000 marine animals of over 800 species. The main attraction is the Open Ocean tank which features more than 50,000 creatures! S.E.A. Aquarium is part of the Marine Life Park of Resorts World Sentosa.

  • HeadRock VR: HeadRock VR is one of Resorts World Sentosa’s newest attractions. It is one of the biggest VR theme parks in Southeast Asia. HeadRock VR features 11 VR experiences which are categorized into 3 zones to suit different thrill preferences of the visitors. Find yourself rafting across extremely strong currents, firing at enemies, balancing off the edge of a skyscraper, and braving a stormy blizzard! It is definitely a larger-than-life virtual reality experience!

  • Wings of Time: Wings of Time is a spectacular award-winning night show at Sentosa. The show is set outdoors against the backdrop of an open sea. Its story revolves around the epic tale of courage, mystery, and magic. A day trip to Sentosa would not be complete without capping the night off with this magical show!
    • Nearest MRT Station: Beach Station
    • How to get there: Find the nearest station and take the MRT. Alight at Harbourfront Station on the North-East Line. From Harbourfront Station, enter VivoCity Mall and go to the third floor. You will then reach the ticketing area of Sentosa Express Monorail Station. Purchase a Sentosa Pass then board the Sentosa Express. Alight at Beach Station, then walk to Siloso Beach, Wings of time Theatre.
    • Operating Hours: There are shows at 7:40 PM and 8:40 PM Daily. The show duration is 20 minutes.
  • Adventure Cove Waterpark: Also part of the Marine Life Park of Resorts World Sentosa, Adventure Cove Waterpark offers unique and thrilling slides and attractions! It features seven water slides, including the region’s first hydro-magnetic coaster, Riptide Rocket. It also boasts of one of the longest lazy rivers in the world, the Adventure River!

Universal Studios Singapore

Universal Studios Singapore is a theme park that features a total of 28 rides, unique shows, and thrilling attractions. Also part of Sentosa Island and located within Resorts World Sentosa, Universal Studios Singapore is a huge theme park that offers countless activities for kids and children at heart alike! I most certainly had the time of my life exploring meeting my favorite animated characters and taking selfies with them. This is one of the highlights of any trip to Singapore! You cannot run out of things to do, rides to try, and attractions to explore as the theme park is divided into seven areas: Hollywood, New York City, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, Far Far Away, Madagascar. Each zone is unique and exciting in its own way because every single area is based on a popular movie or tv show that we all have come to love. I highly recommend that you go through each and every one of them! Do not worry about getting hungry because there are a bunch of restaurants and food carts located strategically across the entire theme park.

  • Chinatown – Chinatown is located within the Outram district in the Central Area of Singapore. It has colorful shop-houses and a handful of historical attractions. Take a fascinating peek into Singapore’s Chinese culture by taking a stroll around the area.
  • Little India – This is the center of life for the Indian community in Singapore. Filled with vibrant murals and traditional eateries, explore Little India to have a unique cultural experience.
  • National Gallery – If you are an art enthusiast, you should not miss this. The art museum is located in Downtown Core of Singapore and it is the home of the world’s largest collection of Singaporean and Southeast Asian Art.
  • Art Science Museum – This is a world-class museum that combines art and science beautifully. This creative venue is one of the most Instagram-worthy places in Singapore! It houses unique exhibitions and art pieces that will not fail to amaze you. (Book Here!)
