I want to touch every grain of sand and swim to every clear waters of the beach. I want to climb every coconut trees and see how breathtaking the island is from above. I want to run to random places and be lost and get sunburned. I want to say hello to every person I pass by and know their stories behind their smiles. I want to chase every sunrise and sunsets and sleep under the stars. And so I go.

I explore, I discover. I swim, I jump. I drive, I walk. I want to soak up all the adventures this island can bring, and it’s never ending. Siargao Island is never ending.

Hi Siargao, My True Love

The island of Siargao is nothing short of captivating. It has everything you could ever want from a destination—the attractions, the vibe, the food. Everything is just amazing. But majority of the visitors believe that the magic of Siargao lies within its people and culture. These two are the key factors as to why many tourists from all over the globe come back tirelessly to the paradise that is Siargao. Including myself.

During my early visits to Siargao, I already knew in my heart that I have fallen in love with the island. But Siargao often leaves me wondering why I kept coming back. I was confused as to how it seems to call me and why, on my end, I couldn’t resist the urge to come back again and again and again. Back then, Siargao already felt like home. I just couldn’t pinpoint why. But it has always been. Fast forward to today when I found out why. I realized everything has a purpose—that I have a purpose here. A purpose to show the world how beautiful Siargao is, not just through photos but by tapping the hearts of everyone to visit here. I have a reason, I found the reason. And that is to encourage everyone to meet the beautiful island paradise of Siargao.

When it comes to Siargao’s food scene, there are a bunch of eateries and restaurants everywhere. It’s actually pretty overwhelming. If you are on a budget, the best way to eat around on the island is by looking for nearby carenderias. They offer various kinds of home-made Filipino dishes. To give you an idea, here is a list of my most favorite food spots!

  1. Barrel Chicken – I super love Barrel Chicken! The chicken is so good. It would probably be the best chicken I have had in my life. It is full of flavor and it is definitely worth the price!
  2. Kermit – Kermit is well known on the island for serving authentic Italian food. The most recommended is their pizza. They serve the best pizza on the island (and maybe in the whole country). It usually gets crowded at night but you can dine at their chillout lounge.
  3. Habhab – This is a great place to have breakfast and spend some downtime with yourself or with a couple of friends. Personally speaking, they offer such good hangover food. They are open for 24 hours which is great if you want to have a cup of coffee any time of the day.
  4. Bliss – This restaurant is all about classic and modern cuisines. They serve Italian dishes which I am super in love with! Their bestseller is their pasta, but they also offer such great appetizers and sandwiches. The location is cozy and perfect for hangouts. The hanging lights from the ceiling give it a hip beach vibe at night making it a great place to chill and dine.
  5. Kalinaw – Kalinaw is a beachfront restaurant is known for its romantic and warm ambiance. They serve dishes ranging from Filipino to south European dishes and a fusion of both flavors with a touch of French cuisine. It is famous for its authentic thin crust Italian style pizza made with fresh ingredients, so expect that it’s quite a bit pricey.
  6. Carenderia – The most budget-friendly restaurant that you can find on the island. However, don’t let the price fool you. They have the best lutong bahay meals. Truly ideal for vacations on a tropical paradise.
  7. Vivo Inn – Vivo Inn’s restaurant is a place that serves really good Filipino breakfast meals! Everything is freshly prepared and they also have such a great menu for lunch and dinner as well.
  8. Shaka Cafe- They offer the best-tasting and most aesthetically pleasing fruit bowls on the island. If you want to stay healthy even on vacation, give Shaka a visit and try their amazing selections of fruit bowls and smoothies.
  9. Mama’s Grill – Mama’s Grill is popularly known for its best-selling barbecue, chorizo, and chicken. If you are looking for a cheap eatery that serves quality food, make sure to stop by Mama’s Grill. It’s a top food destination in Siargao and you would surely love their menu! Spend your night in Mama’s Grill to enjoy their cold beer and grilled barbecue.
  10. Halika Artisan Gelato – Got a sweet tooth? No worries as you can have the most delicious authentic gelato in Halika. They offer a variety of flavors including vegan-friendly ones like Tomato and Watermelon, as well as one of a kind flavors like Red Horse. Overall, everything is so good, it will always be too hard to decide which one you should get!

disco-ball-party-mirror-dance-512.png  Siargao’s Nightlife:

Siargao definitely provides A-W-E-S-O-M-E experiences every single night! Every night has different and unique gimmicks. Parties are actually scheduled per bar. You must not miss this experience in Siargao, I tell you! Nights in Siargao are even more memorable with your friends or even newly met strangers. The vibe is so alive and the music hits differently when you’re dancing with such a positive crowd.

NOTE: There have been stricter regulations that were implemented regarding bars on the island. ALL BARS close at 12:00 AM sharp. So it’s best if you go out and start the night early to make the most out of it.
